[project description]
re-naming and branding a high-tech advertising agency in san francisco

[project story]
winkler mcmanus was a hot silicon valley ad agency that moved to san francisco. they had a clunky name and a pretty boring image.

the project champion on the client side was pat marcoccia, the creative director. he was a big teddy bear of a guy and he wanted the agency to look like a happening place.

we sat down with all the key people in the agency and developed a strategic plan for creating a bold new image.

our first recommendation was that they jettison the mcmanus part of their name. mcmanus was a partner who had departed years ago.

changing the name to just "winkler" was a simple move, but it immediately lightened everything up.

a hundred monkeys directed the entire project from strategy to creative execution. we also did all the writing.

we brought in j. otto siebold, a renowned childrens book writer and illustrator to provide the imagery for the corporate materials and the promotional campaign.

j. otto has done very little commercial work, which helps give a very fresh look to the campaign.
